Map Stories #3 The Michigan Farms Map. This is a long one as it has the most history.
Where it all started back in FS17. I came across a map called Indiana Farming Map made by Randy H. Played on it a bit loved it and began wondering how hard it is to make a map. Hence began my journey. I heavily edited the map learning what I could until the point where I changed the name to Michigan Map. It was primarily shared amongst my close friends.
FS19 the map was rebuilt from the ground up and layout changed some. It was a joint venture between myself and another person in the group. It was a fun map but also caused issues within the group with edits being made to it and also lost my original Facebook page and promises not kept. It was PC only and was shared on those once good modsites which today are full of not very good mods and conversions. Met a lot of cool people playing this map on a server some of which are still around in my discord today. After the falling out Frankenmuth Map was created as I didn't want much to do with Michigan Map after all that happened.
FS22 I had no plans to do anything with. The other person who helped build the map in FS19 started to convert and work on the map for FS22. I focused on my other map (Frankenmuth) as I set a goal for me to get that map on all platforms thru Giants Modhub. After that success I was informed by my good friend SaltyShorty, that the other creator of Michigan Map went silent. Shorty convinced me thru many attempts that I should take the map and rebuild our way for Giants Modhub. I believe it was his favorite map and he had started converting things over as I was finishing up the misc. items with Frankenmuth Map. Through his persuasion I began the process. The map released to all platforms on November 8th 2022.
FS25 Michigan Map has a bit of a sad story. Shorty once again began working on converting some of it as I was working on Frankenmuth. However on January 24th, my good friend for 8-9 years passed away. As Michigan was his favorite map I decided at that time to halt work on Prairie Farm Map and finish what Shorty had started. He was my gaming buddy and a heck of a good map tester for me. His is missed around here. Map will be finished soon and off to Giants for all platforms. I dedicate this map to him as if it wasn't for him this map wouldn't have made a return after FS19.
I am also announcing the Michigan Map will be retired after FS25. As his favorite map of the maps I've done, its time to let both rest in peace.
