they grown corn in Maine. NOT cotton though. Taters are very heavy there
As a person who lives in Maine and in a town 1 hour south of Fort Kent, we do not grow corn, cotton, or sugar beets in this state. You can grow sunflowers but they gotta be started indoors in mid spring to be ready by Fall. Potatoes, Barley, Wheat, Oats, and Hay wouldn't be planted until mid to late spring as we got snow on the ground until May. Winters can be as cold as almost -60 degrees.
