Here is my very first map. I spent the last year learning Giants Editor just to make it. It is based upon a farm that has been in my family for over 100 years. The Home Place is a farm near and dear to my heart. My love for farming comes from the memories I made visiting this farm, baling hay, raking on windswept hillsides, and exploring our land with the dogs tagging along. I truly hope you enjoy Version 1 of this map, and get some sense of the beauty of northeast Iowa.
Having said that, there are known cosmetic issues with some of the doors that were found after uploading (not game breaking and will not interfere with your farming). There WILL be issues the beta testers and I have not discovered yet. I have accepted that fact. I will try to find a place where you can report those issues. I will be providing a second post which involves recommended equipment and recommended expansion (Cliffy's, Retschler's, and buyback Leo's which use to be our property). Here are some notes that should help you in starting the map and cover any questions regarding what is possible on the map:
1. UNZIP the download into your mods folder. It should have some augurs necessary for unloading and loading (loading only for the Maehl's place, otherwise two static augurs are available). There is a picture folder for less obvious triggers in the map (straw, feed, cattle load).
2. There is an extra storage facility in the southeast corner you can buy for cheap. It costs about $1000 of upkeep to store crops here. There is very little storage on the map because that's how it is in real life! Many farms, such as the Baumgartner's, just sell bales!
3. Alfalfa is in the map but not ready to be used (need to work on the bales). This was a last minute addition.
4. You might have trouble at the Home Place feeding cattle in the lower farrowing barn, I have decided to switch this over to calves in the future map just like my uncle has it, so bear with me here.
5. Teleporting to the silage bagger teleports you inside it, I have this fixed, just need to implement it.
6. Milk sell station was added last. Although it should work, I highly recommend beef cattle as that is what this map was designed for and is more realistic for this area.
7. The map is seasons ready, though I have not plowed snow everywhere, it should only be the lane to your farm that needs to be plowed. The neighbor took care of the rest.
8. There are a lot of cattle lots, they are bought with the farmland! In the future I may make it so these lots are bought on their own farmland so you can "rent" space from the neighbor.
9. Version 2 will come with a cleaner leaner folder and fixes to any issues you guys find.
10. Make sure to tag me when you post pictures elsewhere! PLEASE ask me for permission for any publicly released edits or permission for releasing to other sites. Please keep the link on my page.

Use winzip or other unzipping program to extract the folder into your mods folder.
The map is based in Iowa like it says, not Europe.
2GB size is crazy. That shows a lack of programing ability and the inability to properly optimize the the file structure. All of this leads to poor performance and problems in running the map. Try again and get it done correctly.

I love this map. (almost) Great job on it. I have only two minor issues with this map. 1) The paved highway could use a little bit of rounding off on elevation changes. 2) This point may have been intentional by the map author, but there is no oat in the crop sales. I can grow it, but cannot sell it.

If I may make one more request please. Could you move the spawn point at the dealer closer to the fence please. If you purchase several items from the shop, many of the implements are almost against the wall, with barely enough room to even drive a tractor between the items and the wall, let alone hooking up to them. To be clear, its 1.69, that is the official file size. Not sure why modhub says its different. I am, however, working on file size management for the next version!

This is a well done map. I like the layout. I spent a summer working for a cropdusting outfit in the area a few years ago and you captured the area well. The only thing that I would add is a place to sell wood and an area to put placeables somewhere.
There is a big space to use placeables up passed the Baumgartner's farm
There should be a little sawmill on Gunder Road about 2 blocks off of highway 13 . At least there was in 2015 when I was up there.
There is a lot of custom animal pens, custom sheds, maybe you are not used to that...... 1.69 GB is the actual size, which isn't bad with all the detail. Maybe you should download the map before you ramble on like a teenager not knowing what you're talking about.

Love this map. Very realistic to Iowa. It's mostly perfect... other than the roads need smoothed and shop needs sell trigger point. Other than that, great first map! I hope see future updates to this, I think you have a winner here! :^)

I notice that every time I restart the game, my shed doors are all closed even when I've left them open at the end of each previous game. Is there something I can do to prevent that from happening? I love this map! Great job!

Awesome work! I grew up on a dairy farm as a young man and this is the closest thing to an American map I have personally observed on the FS19 platform. The only issue I have observed is the tight driving conditions inside some of the new animal pens. This can make it very difficult to enjoy feeding the animals. Otherwise the map is perfect in my opinion. Some of the feed & straw triggers are very small and hard to hit. Otherwise this map is perfect. Looking forward

Nice job 1st time on maps. I saw a few things that needed some touch up but good none the less. We shall see if American maps get better then what little there is to choose from. Quality to a artistic eye goes a long ways rather then sloppy quantity of most maps I've seen.

i myself built a map and am working on a second. for his first map its a very good start. i did notice some errors in the map but over all nothing he cant go in a fix in a v 2 edit. i to live in iowa so its great to see a map from my home state. ( salty shorty gaming )

@MRGMAPPING I dont know if it is a problem with the map or my savegame but the crop prices are absolutely abismal, except for canloa and sunflowers.... corn sells for like $90/1000l and silage is like 19, im so confused

Being from and living in North Central Iowa, I love this map, there are a few tweaks that could be made (Like making all the trees able to be cut down). But I thank you for this map.

I love this map. A east central Iowa guy here. Its great farming maps based off areas like home. Couple changes I would make are 1. smooth roads(you have already mentioned) 2. Make it so all trees can be cut down. 3. Raise corn and soybean prices some. With running corn at $3.00 a bushel, that converts to $85 per 1000 liters(math giants uses). And if you run a high end like we had back in the hayday of $7.00 per bushel for corn. Thats $198 per 1000 liters. It would make the game a li
